Strikeforce went out to Beverly Hills, California this past Saturday night as they held their second show at the Playboy Mansion. The event headlined former UFC fighter Joe "Diesel" Riggs who squared off with Strikeforce newcomer/ former PrideFC fighter Kazuo Misaki. Although Misaki acquired the victory via TKO-strikes, Riggs was furious with the referee’s early stoppage. In the second round Misaki threw a big right hand punch that landed right on his temple, dropping Riggs straight to the ground. However, Riggs was able to quickly get Misaki into his full-guard and he began to block his face. Misaki didn’t hesitate once he saw Riggs on the mat, throwing a fury of punches in order to finish the fight. Referee Josh Rosenthal ended the fight too soon according to Riggs, who argued that the stoppaged was ended prematurely.
Also on the main card was UFC middleweight fighter, Terry Martin, who also took home a knockout win over Cory Devela. Just when Devela looked to be dominating all three rounds, Martin caught him with a quick left hook and ended the fight with a final right bomb to his face. Former PrideFC fighter Mitsuhiro Ishida acquired an easy win as well, submitting Justin Wilcox via an arm-bar at 1:21 in the first round.
