Tony Ferguson Calls Out USADA Testing at UFC 274

Chandler vs Ferguson

Tony Ferguson (26-7) fought Michael Chandler (23-7) in a lightweight bought on May 7th, 2022 at UFC 274. Chandler won the fight by a vicious KO, a mere 17 seconds into the second round. When recalling the outcome of the match, Dana White, president of the UFC, said “that was the most vicious knockout I’ve ever seen.”

After the match, Ferguson was taken to a local hospital for a precautionary CT scan, where the results were negative.

Speaking weeks after the fight, Ferguson took to Twitter to criticize the USADA testing before UFC 274.

His statement comes after Chael Sonnen recently discussed the state of the sport, and how it is “so clean” on a recent episode of his Bad Guy Inc. podcast. Ferguson is apparently alluding to how Chandler could have been on PED’s, since neither of them were tested directly before the match. The “beneficiary agreement” he is referring to is unconfirmed, as it would be unusual for a fighter, who is married, to sign over medical power of attorney to the United States Anti-Doping Agency.
