UFC 97: David ‘The Crow’ Loiseau Makes Octagon Return Against Ed ‘Short Fuse’ Herman (April 18)

The Canadian fighter David "The Crow" Loiseau (18-8) will look to make his UFC return to fight against the very tough Ed "Short Fuse" Herman (14-7).  The bout has been slated for the UFC 97 event that takes place on April 18, 2009 in Montreal, Canada.

Loiseau had left the UFC with back to back unanimous decision losses to Rich "Ace" Franklin at UFC 58 and then to Mike "Quick" Swick at UFC 63.  Since then "The Crow" has been 4-2, winning his last 3 fights by total domination.  His last 3 wins came against Todd Gouwenberg via a unanimous decision, Andrew Buckland via KO and his most recent win against Solomon Hutcherson via TKO (knees).

Ed Herman is unfortunately coming into this fight with two consecutive losses.  He first lost to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert, Demian Maia, via a triangle choke in the second round.  He then tried to bounce back against Alan "The Talent" Belcher, but lost in a razor-thin split decision.  Herman has been pushed up against the wall and has no choice but to win if he wants to stay with the UFC.  He will have to avoid a third straight loss against UFC veteran Loiseau at the Bell Centre in Quebec.
