UFC 79 Fighter Salaries: George St. Pierre wins Interim Title and $160,000 USD

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) released a few of the fighter salaries last night after the UFC 79-Nemesis event.  According to them, George St. Pierre was paid $60,000 USD for fight and acquired another $60,000 USD for the defeat over Matt Hughes.  As for Hughes, he was paid $100,000 USD regardless of whether or not he won, but his salary would have doubled if he defeated GSP.

Chuck Liddell took home the highest amount, which was $500,000 USD and he’ll look to put in more cash in his pockets from sponsors, pay per view cuts and possible bonus money.  Although Wanderlei Silva lost to Chuck by a unanimous decision, he’ll still be taking home $150,000 USD for his performance in the octagon.

Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou lost to Lyoto Machida through an arm triangle submission, but he was still paid $40,000 USD for his work.  As for Machida, he was paid $30,000 USD for fighting and his submission helped him double that amount to give him a total of $60,000 USD to keep.

These were the only payouts we were able to obtain for now, but we’ll have the rest of the fighter salaries later this week.
