Tim Sylvia Prepares For Fedor Emelianenko And Adrenaline 2

Tim Sylvia has been given the chance to fight the #1 heavyweight in the world–Fedor Emelianenko.  The bout is already scheduled to take place on July 19th in one of the most anticipated heavyweight bouts of the year.  Not only does the former UFC heavyweight champion have to worry about fighting Fedor, but Adrenaline’s CEO Monte Cox has assigned him to fight someone in September as well.  This means that Sylvia will be fighting his second opponent less than 2 months after taking on Fedor.  This will probably be one of Sylvia’s busiest fight schedules of his career.

Sylvia is coming into the fight with Fedor after losing to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at the UFC 81:Breaking Point event.  Sylvia lost a chance to acquire the UFC heavyweight belt, but has been given the opportunity many heavyweights like Randy Couture would love to have.  Sylvia is currently training hardcore as he prepares for an extremly busy summer.

Here’s a snip from the CEO of the Adrenaline organization:

“We signed Tim Sylvia to Adrenaline. That’s a great sign for
us. Then the Affliction thing comes along, what am I supposed to do? Tell Tim
that he can’t fight the No. 1 fighter in the world in one of the biggest fights
ever?…I’m not gonna tell him that. Why, just because I have a contract for
him to fight for Adrenaline? We’re not
going to do that stuff. If there are better fights out there that they have a
chance to fight in and they want to do them and we want them to do them. Then
that’s what we’re going to do, we’re going to fight outside of our own event.”
