Anderson Silva and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira To Open An MMA Gym In Miami

UFC title holders Anderson "The Spider" Silva and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira have decided to open an MMA gym in Miami, Florida.  Why??  They believe the sport of mixed martial arts is growing tremendously, especially in Southern Florida.

Sun Sentinel has reported that both Big Nog and the Spider have agreed on opening up a mixed martial arts academy in downtown Miami and the gym will be 15,000 square ft.  The large facility will be the new home for the UFC heavyweight champ.  Nogueira is also planning on buying a condo nearby, making it easier for him to go down and train at the new training center.

Here’s a snip from Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira:

"The sport is growing here now and is a hotbed for mixed martial arts…Big things are growing here…This has been a dream to open an academy together here…This is a good area and the weather is very good. In Miami, you can
walk in the street and see people. It’s like Brazil. This is the right
time and right place. This is the biggest time right now, in America,
for this sport."

For those living in the area, the grand opening has been made for May 16th and Silva will be having a seminar on May 17th.  Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (Big Nog’s twin brother) plans on joining the squad in Miami some time next summer.  Expect some great MMA trainers for those interested in joining the gym.
