Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker Says Nick Diaz vs. Jay Hieron Still On

Scott Coker

During the Strikeforce ‘Carano vs. Cyborg’ post-fight press conference, CEO Scott Coker tells media that a title bout between Nick Diaz and Jay Hieron will indeed happen by the end of the year.   Diaz was scheduled to fight Hieron this past Saturday night for the Strikeforce welterweight belt, but Diaz failed to take the pre-fight drug tests required by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC).  Diaz was forced off of the fight card and his license to fightin California was suspended.

From Scott Coker:

“We had a conversation with Cesar Gracie about the Nick Diaz situation, so I feel very comfortable Nick will be back shortly. I think he’s going to meet with the athletic commission, get that all worked out, and hopefully we’ll see Nick back here before the end of the year. Jay Hieron came here to fight Nick Diaz, so we will put that fight together.”
