ProElite Acquires Cage Rage

ProElite (parent company of EliteXC) has informed the media of the acquisition of Cage Rage as they join the race to compete with top
organizations like K-1 and the UFC.  Cage Rage is a U.K. based organization that started in 2002 and has gained fame in England as well as in Europe mostly.

Douglas DeLuca is ProElite’s CEO and he insists that nothing will change as far as Cage Rage’s popularity in the U.K. and the acquisition will only help both organizations in a positive way.  Cage Rage 23 will be held on September 22nd and it is expected to be one of the biggest events in Cage Rage history.

President of EliteXC Gary Shaw stated:

“This is an exciting day for all of our organizations, but the biggest winners will be fans in the U.K. …In a short span of eight months, EliteXC has already got the well-deserved reputation for staging sensational fights with the world’s top fighters…With the acquisition of Cage Rage Championships, ProElite and EliteXC  continues to establish itself as the fast-growing, premier MMA organization in the world….I look forward to developing young English fighters and turning them into true world champions, ala Ricky Hatton in boxing.”

There could be some worrying for Zuffa Inc. as UFC may have to deal with competitive organizations like these, but this will only make MMA in general stronger.  This will not so bad for the us, the fans.
