The former 1964 Olympic world heavyweight champion ‘Smokin’ Joe Frazier recently discussed his thoughts on the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA). Frazier is well known for his trilogy of heavyweight championship battles against Muhammed Ali.
Here’s a snip from Frazier as he talks about MMA:
“I don’t know about my boxing world today. It gets me all confused.
When a man falls you go to a neutral corner and the referee counts him
out, but today a man falls they jump on him, kick him, bite him. I
don’t really know what’s going on. I don’t know what to say. I’ve seen
a couple on television and I wouldn’t know what to exactly say about
them. But it’s not boxing.”
