WEC Event Fight Card: Urijah Faber Vs. Jens Pulver On June 1 (Lightweight Title)

WEC has started to promote one of the biggest mixed martial arts bouts of the year in the lightweight division.  The WEC lightweight champion Urija Faber (145lbs) remains undefeated and no one has been able to take that belt away from him.

The UFC veteran, Jens Pulver, will be looking to take away that belt on June 1st now that he’s been given the opportunity to take on the energetic and explosive Faber.  Pulver signed up with the WEC not too long ago and fought his first opponent early December last year.  It looked too easy for Pulver when he pulled out a fascinating submission via a guillotine choke.

Here’s how the fight card is turning out and we’ll keep you guys posted on the rest of the card once we’re informed:

Fight Card:

  • Urijah Faber vs. Jens Pulver
  • Miguel Torres vs. Manny Tapia

From WEC.tv:

Former UFC Lightweight Champion, Jens “Lil Evil” Pulver returns to 145
pounds, a weight at which he has never been beaten, as he looks to
defend his legacy against the #1-ranked featherweight in the world –
WEC Champion “The California Kid,” Urijah Faber. A win for Pulver
secures his spot in MMA history. A win for Faber takes him one step
closer to becoming the greatest featherweight fighter ever. Plus, two
Mexican warriors face off as Miguel Angel Torres defends his
bantamweight title against Manny Tapia.
