Vitor ‘The Phenom’ Belfort returned to the octagon at UFC 103 when he defeated Rich ‘Ace’ Franklin via KO in the first round. He was offered an immediate title shot aginst Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva, but was forced to cancel that fight due to a required shoulder surgery he had to take care of. He tells media that he expects to make his UFC return sometime in September. He also shares his thoughts on the upcoming UFC 117 title match between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen.
From Vitor Belfort:
“Each fight is different; I can’t say how it is going to be. For sure Sonnen will be a great challenge, and I’m pretty sure the fight will be tied. They are two good fighters, now it is up to us to wait… I, for sure, will be one [a challenge for Silva] too. For now, I’ll just wait for my chance and make it worth it. They [doctors] said I could work on my fitness, I’m almost released to train. I’ll be ready in September.”
