UFC Fight Night 13: Thiago Alves Plans On Knocking Out Karo Parisyan

It’s Thiago Alves’ time to shine, but does he really have a chance of taking out the Judo specialist, Karo "The Heat" Parisyan?  Not too long ago, I wrote an article on Karo and he talked about how he matched well with fighters like Thiago:

“I think that it’s a pretty good match against him because
it’s a classic match up of a grappler against a striker and I’ve always had a
lot of success with strikers. Thiago is more of a…he knows how to grapple, he’s
got decent takedown defense but I think his big game is Muay Thai and a lot of
leg kicks so just cut the distance and take him down, and ground and pound him
and catch a submission on him.”

The time has come for Thiago Alves as he steps even closer to the big
names in the welterweight division.  Just when he thought Chris Lytle
was the toughest opponent he’d face, Dana White quickly gave him a bout
with Karo "The Heat" Parisyan.  He admits that Karo will be the biggest
fight of his MMA career, but he is more excited than a fat kid eating
cake.

Here’s a snip from Thiago:

"I’m ready, man. I can’t wait. I’ve never been so excited in
my life.… I’ll try to knock him out, like always. Pressure, I know he’s going
to bring ‘The Heat,’ I’m going to be even hotter. So, it’s going to be really
fun. I can’t wait. I’m really excited. The game plan is going to be to stay in
his face the whole fight… and knock him out.”
