For all the Tito Ortiz fans out there that were waiting for his return, get ready to watch him in action at UFC 84 as he gets ready to face Lyoto Machida. There were several rumors last week of a possible match-up between these two fighters. However, Renato "Babalu" Sobral was asked a few questions last week by media and when asked what he thought about the possible bout between Ortiz and Machida, Babalu replied with:
"I heard that Tito is not going to fight him anymore, so they are going to have to find another opponent for Machida. I got the news a couple of days ago that he was fighting someone else."
It doesn’t matter what he said anyway because it seems like the fight will go on after all. After listening to Tagg Radio with Chris Fries during the "The Lights Out Show," Fries asked Ed Soares (Lyoto Machida’s manager) about Machida’s next opponent. Soares said he talked to Joe Silva who is the UFC matchmaker and stated that there is already an inked deal for this bout.
It should be really interesting to see Tito back in the octagon against a tough opponent like Machida who remains undefeated in the UFC. If Machida wins, he’ll most likely be looking at a title shot. As for Tito, we’ll just have to wait and see what kind of game plan he has in mind for this fight.
