Strikeforce Partners Up With Showtime And CBS, Frank Shamrock vs. Nick Diaz Set For April 11

In February 2009, Strikeforce purchased many of ProElite's (owner to former EliteXC promotion) assets,
including their video library and 42 fighters contracts.  They later announced a three-year broadcast deal with Showtime for up to 16 events per year, as well as a deal with the CBS television network that provided an additional four events.

The new and improved Strikeforce organization has finalized several
other fighter contracts in the past few weeks.
Strikeforce plans to expand their promotion immediately, especially with their recent  CBS and
Showtime partners.  As part of their next Showtime appearance which is set for April 11th, a fight between former Strikeforce champion Frank Shamrock and former UFC fighter Nick Diaz has finally been booked.

The fight card seems to be taking shape with rumors indicating a possible bout between Benji Radach and Scott Smith.  Other popular fighters that look to take part in this next fight card include current Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson and  Gilbert Melendez.
