Strikeforce Kicks Out Phil ‘New York Bad Ass’ Baroni, Possible UFC Return

Phil Baroni upset

Phil “New York Bad Ass” Baroni has won three of his last four mixed martial arts fights.  He made his Strikeforce debut back in June of 2009, losing to Joe “Diesel” Riggs via a unanimous decision.  His lackluster performance made CEO of Strikeforce Scott Coker think twice whether or not Baroni would stay with the Strikeforce promotion.  Coker decided to release Baroni, but promised to re-sign him if he is able to grab some wins in other organizations.  There are also rumors of a possible UFC return, but nothing is official yet.

From the founder of Strikeforce and current CEO, Scott Coker:

“We wish Phil the best of luck and hope he can revive his career. If he can, maybe one day, he can return and fight for us.”
