Phil Baroni also attended a hearing yesterday after testing positive for Stanozolol Metabolite and Boldenone Metabolite late June this year. He was being fined $2500 USD and was supposed to serve a 1-year suspension. After appealing his case, the majority of the commission (3-2) decided to reduce his sentence to only 6 months.
Baroni fought Frank Shamrock in one of the most brutal wars of his career during an EliteXC event. The bout for the middleweight title remained in the hands of Shamrock as he was able to submit Baroni via a rear naked choke in the fourth minute of the second round. Baroni will be serving his time until December 22nd of this year.
