UFC heavyweight fighter Alistair Overeem is currently serving his time after testing positive for elevated testosterone levels. The Dutchman registered a 14-to-1 testosterone-to-epitestosterone (T/E) ratio, more than twice the 6-to-1 ratio allowed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).
The commission ultimately suspended Overeem nine months, and he can now reapply for a fight license on December 27th. The UFC is expected to host its traditional year-end Las Vegas blockbuster on December 29th and that’s most likely when we’ll see him in the cage again. At least that’s what Overeem hinted via his Twitter account:
“I’ll be fighting again in December, and mark my words, I’ll be back to get the belt sooner rather (than) later.”
