The UFC announced the main event and the co-main event bouts for the UFC Fight Night 19 event.  The main event will headline Nate Diaz taking on Melvin Guillard and Roger Huerta makes his octagon return to fight Gray Maynard as part of the co-main event.

Ultimate Fighter veteran Nate Diaz is coming off back to back losses against Clay Guida and Joe Stevenson.  Diaz will look to break his losing streak by defeating the always difficult Melvin Guillard.  Guillard is currently riding a three-fight winning streak with his most recent victory over Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert Gleison Tibau by way of split decision.

The Mexican-American fighter Roger Huerta took a one-year absence from mixed martial arts in order to focus on acting and modeling.  However, Huerta has confirmed an official octagon return to fight the undefeated Gray Maynard.  Huerta has won 16 of his last 18 bouts, losing his last fight to Kenny Florian in a 3-round war and one of his other bouts was labeled as a no contest.  This upcoming bout will be Huerta’s last fight on his contract and there is still no word of a possible contract renewal with the UFC.

The unbeaten Gray “The Bully” Maynard currently holds an overall record of 7-0 with his most recent win over Jim Miller via a unanimous decision.  The Xtreme Couture fighter plans to add his eighth consecutive win on September 16th at UFC Fight Night 19.
