Mousasi vs. Sokoudjou and Werdum vs. ‘Big Foot’ Silva Added To Strikeforce Nov. 7 Fight Card

Strikeforce Nov 7 fight card

The Strikeforce ‘Fedor vs. Rogers’ event has added two more action-packed bouts which includes a non-title fight between Gegard “The Dreamcatcher” Mousasi and Rameau Thierry “The African Assassin” Sokoudjou. The second main card match-up will be a heavyweight battle between Antonio “Big Foot” Silva against former UFC fighter Fabricio Werdum.

Mousasi defeated ‘Babalu’ Sobral on the Strikeforce event held on August 15th and acquired the light heavyweight title.  Although Mousasi’s next bout against Sokoudjou is set for 205 pounds on November 7th, the president of Strikeforce Scott Coker decided that Mousasi would keep the belt whether hes or loses.  The former DREAM middleweight champion will look to add on another victory to his already 13-fight win streak.

Sokoudjou plans on redeeming himself in the United States after a lackluster performance with the UFC promotion.  The “African Assassin” lost two of three fights in the UFC, but he has been able to bounce back with two recent MMA wins coming by way of TKO– first against Jan Nortje at DREAM 9 and then to Bob Sapp at DREAM 11.

Antonio “Big Foot” Silva was recently called in to take on Fabricio Werdum as part of a heavyweight clash for the main card of the Strikeforce November 7 fight card.  Silva is coming off a huge win over Jim York in the most recent DREAM 10 event, making it his sixth consecutive MMA win.

Werdum was released by the UFC after his knockout loss to Junior Dos Santos at UFC 90.  However, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert was able to quickly come back with a victory over Mike Kyle via a guillotine choke submission at the Strikeforce ‘Carano vs. Cyborg’ event back in mid-August.  A win over Silva will put him back up toward the top of the heavyweight rankings.
