The mixed martial arts and K-1 veteran fighter Melvin Manhoef has recently signed a multi-fight deal with the Strikeforce promotion. Manhoef was expected to debut on the upcoming Strikeforce ‘Evolution’ fight card that is set for December 19th, but a prior fight commitment overseas prevented him from taking a fight on short notice.
Manhoef currently holds an overall MMA record of 23-6-1 and his kickboxing record stands at 37-8. His most notable MMA wins came over Mark Hunt, Kazushi Sakuraba and his action-packed brawl victory over Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos back in February of 2006. The Dutch-Surinamese Muay Thai kickboxer has only participated in one MMA event in the United States which was held back in June of 2007, losing to Dong Sik Yoon at the K-1 Dynamite!! event in Los Angeles.
