Former UFC heavyweight champion Ken Shamrock will be taking on WWE superstar Bobby Lashley as part of the ‘March Badness’ fight card scheduled to take place at the Penascola Civic Center on March 21st.  The event will include both boxing and mixed martial arts.  The headliner for the boxing portion includes a bout between

Shamrock has lost 8 of his last 11 fights, which puts the 45-year old MMA vet in a bit of a disadvantage.  Although he won his last bout against Ross Clifton at the WarGods: “The Valentine’s Eve Massacre” event back in early February, he’ll still be the underdog against the 265-pound monstruous Bobby Lashely.

Lashley made his MMA debut on December 13th against Joshua Franklin at the MFA “There will be blood” show.   The former WWE wrestler pretty much dismantled Franklin within 41 seconds of the first round.  After a devastating takedown and strikes to Franklin’s head, a cut opened up which signaled doctors to stop the fight.  Lashley will be looking for his second win against the well known Shamrock in hopes to gain more popularity within the sport of mixed martial arts.

Main Fight Card: (MMA portion; televised on PPV)

  • Seth “The Silverback” Petruzelli vs. Doug “Rhino” Marshall
  • Ken “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” Shamrock vs. Bobby Lashley
  • Roy “Big Country” Nelson vs. Jeff “The Snowman” Monson
