Frank Shamrock Out 8 Months Due To A Broken Right Ulna; He Wants A Rematch With Cung Le

Frank Shamrock loses his title and now has to deal with the fact that he suffered a broken right arm.  He’ll be staying away from training for approximately 8 months.  It’s time to give Shamrock some credit as he exchanged blows with the San Shou master in a Strikeforce event to be remembered.   Cung Le took home the Strikeforce middleweight title and the respect from MMA fans who thought he couldn’t stand a chance.

Just when we thought Shamrock would be Le’s biggest test as far as taking the fight to the ground, Shamrock decided to stay on his feet in a goal to prove that he too can stand with the Vietnamese-American fighter.  Both fighters put up a hell of a show as they went at it toe for toe throughout the entire fight.  Back to back rounds with tons of action, but toward the end of the third round Shamrock couldn’t hold in the pain any further as he held his arm and dropped to the ground.

We now learn that he had six screws and a metal plate inserted into his right ulna.  Doctors say that Shamrock suffered a broken right forearm due to an accumulation of punches and kicks by Le throughout most of the fight.  Due to this, he’ll be completely sidelined until he fully recuperates.  Once he is recovered completely, Shamrock says that he plans on coming back into the Strikeforce cage and successfully regain San Jose and the belt he once had.  The rivalry has only begun as we await patiently for the middleweight rematch.
