Big Nog Out Due To Injury, Mirko Cro Cop In To Fight Frank Mir At UFC 119 In Indianapolis

Antonio Rodrigo ‘Big Nog’ Nogueira was scheduled to fight Frank Mir as part of a rematch bout at UFC 119.  However, due to a recurring hip injury, Nogueira has been forced off of the upcoming UFC 119 headliner.  Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic has been called in to replace the injured ‘Big Nog’ and will now face Frank Mir as part of the main event in Indianapolis.

Cro Cop is currently on a 4-1 MMA run with his only loss against top UFC heavyweight contender Junior ‘Cigano’ Dos Santos.  Since then, the Croation kickboxer immediately rebounded from that loss with recent stoppage wins over Anthony Perosh at UFC 110 and Pat Barry at UFC 115.

Mir is ready to bounce right back onto a winning streak after losing to Shane Carwin at UFC 111.  His loss to Carwin prevented him from attaining his third fight against UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar, a fight Mir has been wanting for a very long time.

UFC 119 is scheduled for September 25th at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Ryan Bader will face Antonio Rogerio ‘Lil Nog’ Nogueira as part of the co-main event and former UFC welterweight champ Matt Serra returns to take on hard-hitting Chris Lytle on that same card.
