Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Recovered, Prepared For Randy Couture at UFC 102

The former UFC interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo ‘Minotauro’ Nogueira states that the main reason why he lost to Frank Mir at UFC 92 is because of a knee injury he suffered two weeks prior to the bout.  Although he suffered a torn meniscus, he decided to go on with the fight anyway.  He insists that his loss was all due to his injured knee, which completely affected his stand up and prevented him from doing his normal takedowns.

Now, the very focused Nogueira seems to be 100% healthy as he prepares to fight former UFC heavyweight champion Randy ‘The Natural” Couture at UFC 102.  The even is scheduled to take place on August 29th at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.

Snip from Minotauro himself:

” [Referring to his UFC 92 bout against Frank Mir] I wasn’t able to take the fight to the floor. I had an injury two weeks before the fight when I went to USA. I had my knee hurt and tore my meniscus and it messed up my standing training and takedowns. My knee displaced many times during the fight. I wasn’t well at all. I wasn’t 100%. Now it’s time to train harder and face Randy (Couture).”
