Former MLB Star Jose Canseco To Take On Hong Man Choi At DREAM 9

jose-cansecoThe former Major League baseball superstar Jose Canseco has inked a deal with the DREAM promotion to take on  7’2″ South Korean giant Hong Man Choi.  The bout is scheduled to take place on May 26 at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.

Canseco will step into the ring for the very first time, so it will be interesting to see some of his mixed martial arts skills come May 26.  The fight is considered an open-weight tournament which means that he’ll have a chance to compete a second time if he defeats Choi that night.

Choi is currently holds an overall MMA record of 1-2 with a single win over Bobby Ologun during the K-1 Dynamite event back on the New Year’s Eve event in 2006.  The South Korean giant will welcome Canseco to the big leagues once again, but this time it’s Mixed Martial Arts and not Major League baseball which should be interesting to watch.

Other must-see matches on that fight card include a title match between Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza.  JZ Calvancante will be fighting Tatsuya Kawajiri, Mark Hunt vs. Gegard Mousasi, Jan Nortje vs. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Bob Sapp vs. Ikuhisa “Minowaman” Minowa and many more.
