The Affliction promotion has announced that the fight contract they had with the former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski is currently expired.  Vice President of Affliction Tom Atencio also added that they are not planning in renewing Arlovski because of the amount of fighters they already have under contract.

Arlovski has suffered two consecutive MMA losses as he was first knocked out by Fedor Emelianenko at the Affliction ‘Day of Reckoning’ event in January of 2009.  His second and most recent loss was a 22-second knockout by Brett Rogers at the June 6 Strikeforce event.

Although Arlovski lost a possible contract renewal with Affliction, the Belarusian fighter was still able to pocket huge money.  He earned $750,000 USD for his KO win over Ben Rothwell at the Affliction ‘Banned’ event, $500,000 USD for his win over Roy “Big Country” Nelson at the EliteXC ‘Heat’ event and a $1.5 million USD disclosed salary in the loss to Fedor Emelianenko at the Affliction ‘Day of Reckoning’ event.
