The former UFC light heavyweight champion and current Cage Rage light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort looks to be making his UFC comeback very soon. Although he is known for kicking ass and taking names at 205 pounds, Belfort has made the middleweight division his new home. UFC President Dana White is really looking forward to having Belfort fight in the UFC again, which will add some extra competition in the UFC 185-pound division. White seems to be hinting an immediate title shot between Belfort and Anderson Silva if Silva defeats Forrest Griffin UFC 101 in August.
Snip from Dana White himself:
“While [Anderson Silva] is fighting Forrest [Griffin], I’m working on some other 185 pounders. Vitor Belfort – he is a former heavyweight who moved down to 205. Now he’s at 185 pounds. He’s got great hands, he’s good on the ground, and if his head is right, he can be a very dangerous guy. I think that would be a great match up.”
