The former Dream middleweight champion and former Cage Warriors middleweight champion Gegard “The Dreamcatcher” Mousasi is looking forward to take one of the toughest competitors in the sport of mixed martial arts.  At Affliction ‘Trilogy’ Mousasi will go up against Renato “Babalu” Sobral as part of the pay-per-view main fight card.

Mousasi understands the difficult bout ahead of him where two submission specialists may test their skills on the ground.  However, if both fighters decide to exchange on their feet then the Armenian-Dutch contender is ready for that type of war as well.  Mousasi tells us how how confident he is coming into this fight, expecting to dominate all positions.  He warns us to look out for some raining elbows if he is in ground and pound position over Babalu.

Mousasi reveals his game plan against Babalu, a bout scheduled for August 1st at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California:

“Sobral is so tough. When he comes, he comes to fight…It will be a good test for me…With Sobral, I will try to fight (a) stand up game. If it goes to the ground, I will take top position and work him over with my ground and pound. Sobral will have to watch out for my elbows; I want to use them in this fight. If I end up on my back, I can defend myself and eventually we will stand back up again.”
