WEC 41 Headlines ‘Urijah Faber vs. Mike Brown 2’ (Featherweight Rematch)

In one of the most anticipated rematch bouts of the year, Mike Brown is ready to put his WEC featherweight belt on the line against former champion Urijah “The California Kid” Faber.  Brown had taken Faber’s belt before at WEC 36 via a knockout punch that sent Faber straight to the ground in the very first round.  Not only did Brown take away Faber’s belt, but he also gave the California kid his first loss in his mixed martial arts career.

Brown defended his title for the very first time against Leonard Garcia at WEC 39.  He submitted Garcia via a triangle choke in under two minutes of the first round and remains WEC featherweight champion.

Although Faber lost his title for the very first time in his WEC career, he has earned an immediate title shot after defeating the former UFC lightweight champion Jens “Lil Evil” Pulver.  Faber was able to prove that he does indeed deserve a chance to regain the belt he once had after submitting Pulver via a guillotine choke in the first round.

The WEC 41 event is expected to air LIVE and FREE on the VERSUS channel.
