UFC 77 Bonuses: $40K each for Anderson Silva, Demian Maia, Jason Black and Matt Grice

Several bonuses were awarded to certain fighters who brought excitement to Saturday night’s UFC 77 events.  Dana White usually rewards his fighters on the fight card with monetary compensation if they are able to entertain the crowd.

Matt Grice and Jason Black were given $40K each for having the "Fight of the Night" as they started and ended their fight with tremendous energy throughout the entire 3 rounds.  Both fighters showed great wrestling work with continuous ground action.  Grice was able to take a controversial split decision win over Jason Black after 3 rounds of war.

Anderson Silva was rewarded for his spectacular work and won a $40K bonus for "Knockout of the night" as he basically destroyed Rich Franklin in the most awaited rematch fight of the year.  Silva entertained the crowd with back kicks, flying knees, muay thai and spinning back punches.  He looked unstoppable once again as he won via TKO-strikes in the second round.

Lastly, the UFC newcomer Demian Maia, was awarded the "Submission of the night" as he gave Ryan Jensen a few Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lessons.  Maia was the only fighter to win via submission and a fantastic rear naked choke it was.  The Brazilian adds another victory to his favor and awaits his next victim in 2008.
