On June 3rd, fans around the world will pay close attention to what the capital of the world has to say about Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).  We have all been very anxious with what the New York State Assembly’s Committee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports will say about the sport.  This will be a very big decision because a New York State approval could pretty much increase popularity for the sport.

Will it be approved or will it not?? That is the question…

Here’s how it will work on June 3rd:

With 21 committee members present, 11 of them must pass the bill in order to have MMA approval in New York. Assemblyman Jonathan Bing will be presenting arguments in favor of MMA while Assemblyman Bob Reilly will present arguments against MMA.  If approved, the bill will head over to the Codes Committee as well as the Ways and Means Committee. If both of the committees  pass the bill, it is then passed down to the Assembly floor for a general vote.

The lengthy process is not going to be an easy task, but it sure won’t be impossible.  Keep your fingers crossed as we patiently wait June 3rd to come.  We’ll keep you guys informed with the latest on the New York State bill 2009-B.
