Wanderlei Silva Comments On Chris Leben Win At UFC 116: “I Think He’s A Great Opponent To Fight With Me Next”

UFC middleweight fighter Wanderlei Silva was forced to withdraw from the UFC 116 fight card against Yoshihiro Akiyama due to fractured ribs suffered during a training session.  Chris Leben stepped in as a late replacement for the injured Silva, which actually turned out into a huge submission victory in favor of “The Crippler.”

Silva congratulated Leben for his great performance and called him out as his next opponent.  The “Axe Murderer” plans on making his Octagon return sometime in the end of 2010 or beginning of 2011.

From Wanderlei Silva:

“I think I’ll be back to fighting in 6-7 months. [Chris Leben] represented himself very well (at UFC 116) and he’s a good opponent. If he’s going to wait, then I want to fight with him next. He did very well, gave a great show and I think he’s a great opponent to fight with me next.”
