MMA welterweight fighter Paul Daley was released by the UFC after a bizarre incident he had with Josh Koscheck at UFC 113. After the final bell sounded and the fighters had been separated, Koscheck turned his back to Daley to begin walking back to his corner when Daley threw a punch that hit Koscheck in the face. During the post fight press conference, Dana White announced that Daley would never fight in the UFC again. White was quoted as saying, “He’ll never come back, I don’t care if he’s the best 170-pounder in the world. He’s never coming back here. There’s no excuse for that. You never hit a guy like that after the bell.”
Daley went off to fight at two other promotions where he defeated Daniel Acacio at Impact FC 2 and then he beat Jorge Masvidal at Shark Fights 13. He has now signed a multi fight deal with the Strikeforce promotion. No word on future opponent nor the date of his first fight, but we’ll make sure to keep you guys posted.
