Hermes Franca was recently tested positive for anabolic steroids used during the fight against Sean Sherk.
Hermes lost against Sherk in a 5-round Lighweight bout held at UFC 73-Stacked and tried to appeal his suspension in order to lessen the 1-year penalty. The California Athletic commission denied his appeal and he will now be away from the octagon until July of 2008 in addition to a $2500 fine.
Sherk will be hearing his appeal results as he is accused for having high levels of Nandrolone, a testerone enhancer. Sherk is also currently suspended for 1 year and is in danger of losing his Lighweight belt if found guilty.
