Lesnar vs Carwin

Shane Carwin was slated to take on Mexican-American heavyweight fighter Cain Velasquez as part of the main event at UFC 104.  Instead, Carwin will now be taking on Brock Lesnar for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 106.  Velasquez will still be participating at UFC 104, but he’ll be inking a deal to fight Ben Rothwell as part of the main event.

Carwin holds an undefeated MMA record of 11-0 and three of those wins were in the UFC.  Lesnar will be looking to officially defend his UFC heavyweight title for the very first time and he holds an overall MMA record of 4-1 and three of those wins were also in the UFC.  The pair have showed excellent performances in the octagon, so expect fireworks come November 21st.

Once contracts are officially settled, UFC 106 will headline Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin in Las Vegas, Nevada.  At UFC 104, Cain Velasquez vs. Ben Rothwell will be the co-main event of UFC 104 in Los Angeles, California on October 24th.  Velasquez and Rothwell will be supporting the main event bout between Lyoto Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua who are fighting for the UFC light heavyweight title.
