Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva Returns: “They’re talking about December because it is the best event of the year”

In a recent interview withTagg Radio, Wanderlei Silva talked about his recent knockout win over Keith "The Dean Of Mean" Jardine at the UFC 84: Ill Will event.  He discusses the close relationship he continues to have with some of his former Chute Boxing partners including Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Anderson "Spider" Silva.  He also indicates that he is in the process of opening up a gym of his own in the Las Vegas area.

Wanderlei has been extremely busy ever since he inked a deal with the UFC.  His big move from Brazil to the United States, the everyday hardcore training and now the gym he is building has taken up most of his time.  However, the former PrideFC 205-pound champion couldn’t be any happier to come back and fight for the UFC, "the best organization in the world with the best fighters in the world."  During the radio interview, Wanderlei seemed to hint a possible return to the UFC cage most likely in December.

Here’s a snip from the Axe Murderer:

"I’m talking with (UFC co-owner) Lorenzo (Fertitta)… They’re talking about December because it is the best event of the year. (Antonio Rodrigo) Nogueira is going to fight (Frank) Mir for the belt for the heavyweights…This is the best event. It’s much more promotion. They told me to be ready to fight in December…They gave me 10 (possible) names…My division is the best division in the world. They have so many names. I think they’re going to give a good opponent to me…I wanted to fight [Jackson] again…I think it’s a very good match…For me, I have time to fight for the belt in the future, no problem…I’m going to wait for my opportunity. I’m going to give my best on every fight. After I win my fights, I’m going to have an opportunity to fight for the belt…For me, no problem…I’ll fight with everybody"
