The former UFC champion Randy “The Natural” Couture recently lost to heavyweight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via a unanimous decision at UFC 102. Immediately after his action-packed bout against Nogueira, Couture renewed his contract by signing a 6-fight deal with the UFC. Due to his recent loss, “The Natural” has considered to possibly drop down in weight and maybe enter the light heavyweight division (205 lbs.).
From Randy Couture:
“I haven’t really looked at the cards and the shows that they have. What’s on the schedule, I don’t know, but I’m especially leaning towards dropping down. I’m pushing in weight. It would be easy for me to make 205 and there’s more interesting fights there right now. I don’t know how realistic it is to think I’m going to be the guy in line to fight Lesnar after dropping the decision [last] Saturday night (at UFC 102).”
