Cro-Cop, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Kazuhiro Nakamura and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. These are the names of only a few of the Pride fighters that have made their UFC debut this past year and have given a bad first impression in the octagon. Many UFC fans are now arguing that this proves that UFC fighters are better than Pride fighters. But then how would they explain Rampage Jackson and Anderson Silva, two former Pride fighters who now hold UFC title belts?
The truth of the matter is that it is simply too early to say who has the better breed of fighters. There are just not enough fights that we can use to defend either side at this moment. Nonetheless,
this may not be true a year from now once we have seen some of these fighters fight more matches, and perhaps some new Pride fighters join the Octagon.
Until then, many will continue to dispute on the topic of whether the UFC fighters or Pride fighter are better, and that is fine because that is one of the reasons why this sport is so exciting to watch.
