After all of the criticism Dana White had for Fedor Emelianenko, he’s finally willing to do whatever it takes to sign the #1 MMA heavyweight fighter in the world.  Although White has stated in the past that Fedor is an “overrated” fighter, he still believes that a bout between the Russian Sambo expert and Brock Lesnar would be a “huge fight” for all UFC and MMA fans around the globe.

Fedor Emelianenko is scheduled to take on probably one of the most toughest opponents in his mixed martial arts career on August 1st.  He’ll be fighting the former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett as part of the Affliction “Trilogy” main event.  On the other hand, Brock Lesnar will be taking on the winner of the UFC 104 heavyweight fight between Shane Carwin and Cain Velasquez.  We’ll just have to wait and see how these fights turn out…

Snip from UFC President Dana White during the UFC 100 post-fight press conference:

“This whole Fedor thing has been going on and on and on. I keep saying this and that about him and he keeps waiting. Eventually, Fedor’s going to be here. I want Fedor. I want him to come to the UFC and everything else. [Lesnar] just became the heavyweight champion. We’ll end up getting that deal done. And then we’ll do Brock vs. Fedor, and it’ll be a huge fight.”
