BJ “The Prodigy” Penn defended his UFC lightweight belt this past Saturday night against Kenny “Kenflo” Florian at UFC 101 ‘Declaration’. The Hawaiian fighter acquired a victory over Florian via a rear-naked choke in the fourth round. Penn answered many media questions as how complete of a fighter he really is, dominating both the stand-up and ground game throughout the entire fight.
During the UFC 101 post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White tells us that Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez is “next in line” to face the UFC 155-pound– BJ Penn. The former UFC welterweight fighter Sanchez entered the lightweight division immediately after his win against Luigi Fioravanti. Sanchez is 2-0 in the lightweight division, but has an overall UFC record of 10-2.
From UFC President Dana White:
“The great thing about the 155-pound division is how stacked it is. And I think Diego Sanchez is probably next in line for a title shot against B.J. (Penn). It’s a great fight.”
