UFC heavyweight Mike Russow fought and defeated the hard-hitting Todd Duffee in a surprising comeback victory at UFC 114. Since then, Russow was recovering from a broken arm he suffered in that fight. Monte Cox tells media that Russow would be officially return in the beginning of 2011. Russow is currently riding on a 9-fight win streak, including two consecutive victories in the UFC over Justin McCully at UFC 102 and his most recent win over Duffee.
Today we learned that Jorge Rivera will be out of action until 2011 as he tells his fans via his Facebook account that he too suffered a broken arm during a training session. Rivera was forced to cancel his scheduled UFC 118 bout against Alessio Sakara.
It’s unfortunate for both of these great fighters to suffer such painful injuries, but it’s just something that fighters have to deal with when competing in this sport. Best of luck for both warriors on their road to recovery, get well soon!
