UFC Fighter Nick Ring Becomes Calgary Hero, Rescues Young Couple Getting Robbed

UFC middleweight fighter Nick Ring became a hero when he witnessed a group of teens beating up two people who were waiting at a bus stop in Calgary, Canada.  Ring was driving his car when he saw the incident occurring right in front of his own eyes.  He quickly jumped out of his vehicle, made sure the victims were fine, and then immediately chased down several suspects.

According to the report, Calgary police arrested three juveniles who were later charged with common assault.  Although their names were not released, it was a 17-year old boy, a 16-year old boy and a 15-year old girl.  There is still a fourth male juvenile being sought for questioning and could also face arrest.  The victims were both 17, a male and a female.  The male was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, but he has now been released.

The Canadian hero is scheduled to face Court McGee on July 21st as part of the UFC 149 main card in Calgary, Canada.

He spoke with media and explained the entire incident:

“I saw these little punk cowards picking on defenseless people and I knew they needed to come to justice…They looked  like they came right from a Rap video.  They watch too many movies and they obviously think they’re a lot tougher than they are. They think it’s OK to rob people, apparently, but it’s not. This was a situation where they were just punks, and not very tough people. No one with an ounce of bravery would consider any such actions.  I wasn’t afraid of one of them. They were wannabe gangsters and they needed to be dealt with… [In regards to a second person who also came to the victims’ aid]  I hope he comes forward and gets the proper credit, because he took some pretty heroic actions.”
