The current UFC lightweight fighter and former IFL contender, Josh "The Dentist" Neer, was arrested on Thursday morning by Iowa police. According to the police report, Neer was involved in a three-car collission. He was charged with a second-offense by driving a vehicle while intoxicated and passing the speed limit by more than 25 miles per hour. He then attempted to elude authorities, leading them on a high-speed police chase.
Neer was later released on bond at around 10am Thursday morning. The bond Neer had to pay was $5,000 USD for eluding, $2,000 USD for driving while intoxicated and he will face a future court date.
Neer has won 3 of his last 4 fights, losing only his last bout to Nate Diaz at UFC Fight Night 15 via a split decision. He is scheduled to fight on February 7th against Mac Danzig at UFC Fight Night 17. The event will be taking place in Tampa, Fl at the USF Sun Dome.
