UFC 90 Breaks Gate Record With 2.8 Million Dollars, Bonuses Announced

During the post-fight press conference for UFC 90 ‘Silva vs. Cote’, Dana White announced that this event broke a previous Illinois live gate record.  The sold-out crowd of 15,359 helped produce some of the 2.9 million dollars in earnings, which was higher than the Wrestlemania 13 event held back in 1997.

The UFC 90 event headlined a middleweight title fight between Anderson "The Spider" Silva vs. Patrick "The Predator" Cote.  Silva attained a TKO win over Cote due to a knee injury tht Cote suffered at the start of the third round (closeup pic of right knee injury).  The co-main event featured Thiago "Pibull" Alves who is now a step closer for a UFC welterweight title shot.  Alves defeated Josh Koscheck via a dominating unanimous decision.

Dana White also announced the bonus winners for UFC 90.  Each of the fighters that acquired one of the following bonuses, pocketed an extra $65,000 dollars aside from their regular salaries.  All of the fighter payouts for this event will be posted some time this week.
