UFC 88: Chuck Liddell vs. Rashad Evans (September 6)

The UFC has surprised us with another must-see light heavyweight bout.  Rashad "Sugar" Evans will be taking on Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell on September 6th, 2008 as they headline the UFC 88: Breakthrough fight card.

Liddell defeated Wanderlei Silva not too long ago via a unanimous decision over at the UFC 79: Nemesis event.  Prior to that, he was defeated once to Rampage Jackson and lost his light heavyweight belt.  Thereafter, Keith "The Dean of Mean"
Jardine sneaked in an upset win over Liddel via a split decision.

Liddell continues to be one of the top competitors of this sport as he dominated the 205-pound division for a very long time.  He’ll be tested once again on September 6th as he prepares to face one of the toughest wrestlers in the game, Rashad Evans.

Evans is more than excited to face one of the toughest fighters in the world.  He respects the Iceman, yet feels confident enough to take home the win.  Although it will not be an easy task, Evans has proven to be a very well-rounded fighter.  He remains undefeated today (11-0-1) and only had one draw, which was against the former UFC light heavyweight champ Tito Ortiz.  His most recent win came against Michael Bisping over at UFC 78-Validation where he won via a tight split-decision.

UFC 88: Breakthrough is scheduled to take place on September 6th at the Phillips arena, Georgia.  The public on-sale date for tickets begins June 21st at 12pm ET.
