UFC 84: Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura

The UFC has announced that Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou will be taking on Kazuhiro Nakamura at UFC 84.  The scheduled bout will be taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Nevada on May 24th.  The fight card is already taking shape with its main event headlining BJ Penn vs. Sean Sherk for the "true" lightweight title.

Sokoudjou recently lost to Lyoto Machida via a rear naked choke during his UFC debut at UFC 79-Nemesis.  Prior to that fight, the African Assassin knocked out two top light heavyweight fighters, Ricardo Arona and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (brother to the current UFC heavyweight champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira), in under 2 minutes.  He’ll be looking to redeem himself against Nakamura this May.

Loved by many Japanese MMA fans, Nakamura also lost during his UFC debut against the same man-Lyoto Machida.  He too will be looking for a win at UFC 84 and get some sort of streak going.  Nakamura was recently suspended and fined as he tested positive for marijuana immediately after his fight with Machida.  Although he denied his use of illegal drugs, his 3-month suspension and $500 USD remained.
