Tyson Griffin is coming into UFC 81 with 2 consecutive wins, including defeats over Clay Guida and Thiago Tavares. Griffin ended Tavares’ undefeated record by acquiring a unanimous decision win at UFC 76-Knockout. He also attained a bonus check for $40,000 USD for having the "Fight of the Night," making it his third "Fight of the Night" in his UFC career.
Gleison Tibau has won 4 times in a row including wins over Jason Dent, Antonio Fernandes, Jeff Cox and his last fight to Terry Etim. He beat Etim via a unanimous decision at UFC 75-Champion vs. Champion. Tibau will be looking to add his fifth consecutive win when he faces Tyson Griffin, one of the most dangerous fighters in the lightweight division today.
