For those of you who are interested in purchasing tickets for the UFC 81-Breaking Point event, make sure to check the following dates:
- UFC Club Presale: Wednesday, December 5th @ 1 pm ET
- UFC Newsletter Presale: Friday, December 7th @ 1 pm ET
- General Ticket Sale: Sunday, December 9th @ 1pm ET (ticketmaster.com)
The event is scheduled for Super Bowl weekend, which is on February 2nd, 2008 and the fight card will headline former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir who will go up against UFC newcomer and former WWE heavyweight wrestler Brock Lesnar.
Other fights that are rumored, but not yet confirmed are Nate Marquardt vs. Thales Leites, Tyson Griffin vs. Gleison Tibau and Alan Belcher vs. Ricardo Almeida. The other important match-up would be Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira who is currently waiting for Randy Couture’s decision on whether or not he will be defending his UFC heavyweight title for that date. If Couture decides not to take the fight, Dana While will most likely call in Tim Sylvia to fight Nogueira for an interim heavyweight title. It’s all up to Couture right about now, so we’ll just have to wait on his final word.
There are also rumors of the long-awaited return of Evan Tanner and David Heath for UFC 81, but none of these rumors are official.
