UFC 79: Rameau Sokoudjou looks to make his UFC debut against Lyoto Machida memorable this Saturday (Dec. 29)

Rameau Thierry "The African Assassin" Sokoudjou just turned 23 years old in April of this year.  The young Judo specialist of Cameroon descent has already made a statement to all light heavyweight contenders after defeating 2 very experienced mixed martial artists.   He is well known for his physical strength specifically his powerful kicks, his speed and his ability to knock out his opponents with one strike.

It wasn’t too long ago that Sokoudjou faced Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in one of the biggest upsets this year, defeating him in just 23 seconds via TKO-strikes during his PrideFC debut (Pride 33).  The Japanese organization at the time decided to put Sokoudjou for a real test at Pride 34, the last event held by former President of PrideFC, Nobuyuki Sakikabara.  The African Assassin was assigned to take on Ricardo Arona, the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu expert.  Nontheless, Sokoudjou disappointed the crowd’s favorite as he defeated Arona via TKO-strikes as well in under 2 minutes.

With an impressive 4-1-0 record, the Cameroonian will look to continue his winning streak during his UFC debut at UFC 79-Nemesis this Saturday.  He will look to take on a very tough opponent who is currently undefeated, standing at 11-0-0.  Machida beat Kazuhiro Nakamura not too long ago at UFC 76-Knockout via a unanimous decision.  He too has been considered one of the most dangerous men in the light heavyweight division, so expect a very exciting bout.
