Manny "The Anvil" Gamburyan (5-2-0) will participate at UFC 79-Nemesis where he’ll prepare to fight Nate Mohr (8-4-0) in a lightweight battle. At UFC 79, Matt Serra will be taking on Matt Hughes as part of the welterweight division matches while Chuck Liddell looks to face Wanderlei Silva in the most anticipated light heavyweight dream match of the decade.
Nate Mohr last fought at the UFC Fight Night 10 event where he
won a unanimous decision over Luke Caudillo. It was a preliminary bout, which was not aired on television. However, his performance and win has given him a chance to work his way up the ladder in the lightweight division.
The Anvil recently lost to Nathan Diaz in The Ultimate Fighter 5 finale due to a shoulder injury. He has completely recovered from the dislocated shoulder and he feels more than ready to get back into the octagon. Gamburyan is a cousin to Karo Parisyan (fighting at UFC 78-Validation) whose specialty is also in Judo. As a Judo specialist, he won junior nationals 8 times, was a member of the 2000 Judo junior world team and won the junior Olympics once.
